Conditions We Treat at Herndon Chiropractic & Acupuncture Care

collage of photosHow We Can Help You With Structural Integration

Structural integration of the musculoskeletal system and soft tissue injuries are one of our primary focuses at this office. Soft tissues connect, support, and surround structures and organs of the body, and involve muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissues, nerves and joint membranes.

There are two major types of soft tissue injuries. First are acute injuries such as in a motor vehicle accident, or sprained ankle. Traumatic forces stretch the tissues beyond their normal strength. The second type is repetitive strain injuries, such as postural strain caused by sitting at a computer using the keyboard. This causes micro-trauma over time. An example is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

At our office, before an optimum treatment regimen can be rendered, we need to determine the underlying cause via a thorough health history, and examination. Not all patients are candidates for our care. If so, we will assist in directing you to the best specialist for your condition.

Our goal is to not only help you feel better now but to also help you prevent future injury, and have a better quality of life. For this, we combine proper exercise and stretching along with chiropractic, acupressure and acupuncture care.

Women’s Wellness

Women have unique requirements in the way of neuromusculoskeletal wellness. That is even more apparent when she strives for greater energy and activity, and endeavors to achieve top levels of physical performance. Women’s and men’s healthcare are very much different. Their bodies are not built in the same way. Her neuromusculoskeletal system is different. Thus, she requires methods of care unique to her.

Chronological age has no bearing on the quality of the specialized skilled care you deserve. Whether you are young, a student, professional, new mom, experienced mother, or senior, we consider the health care you need based on your personal needs.

Over the course of pregnancy, women oftentimes experience various neuromusculoskeletal conditions as a result of rapid growth, looseness of ligaments, changes in hormones, and variances in center of gravity. Structural changes in the spine and pelvis may challenge the birthing process. We provide gentle adjustments and soft tissue mobilization methods to assist in diminishing restrictions in the muscles, ligaments and fascia that support the spine and pelvis. This helps the mother in being more comfortable in her changing body, and allows for an optimal environment for the growing baby.
